Course Overview
This course introduces attendees to the UML and
enables them to be able to understand the diagrammatical syntax and
grammatical rules without having to create the models. The
following topics are covered:

The UML,
its history and role within systems and business

The UML
diagrams, its meaning and context

Understanding the different model parts and how
they relate to each other

The
course is a hands-on course with plenty of examples and exercises,
intending to instil the concepts with the
participants.
Audience
This course is targeted at individuals that may
need to work with business and systems analysts that use the UML
and will use UML diagrams as a basis for agreement on system or
business requirements.
Prerequisites
None
Expected outcomes
The attendees will have a practical knowledge of
the UML diagrams, understand the meaning and context of the
diagrams and will be able to take part in discussion and workshops
that uses the UML as a requirements gathering
technique.
